Students will continue in essay writing and exploring a variety of topics to enrich their writing skills. Grammar, vocabulary, and ACT Prep will be integrated into each weekly lesson. They will complete a unit of creative writing, a short unit on poetry, units covering the 5 main types of essays, and an MLA style research paper at the end of the year. They will read 4 books throughout the year, then discuss and analyze each work. Your student will receive continual feedback and the teacher/mentor will grade all writing assignments. This course will take your students' writing to the next level. Students must have experience with writing a 5-paragraph essay.
