This course will cover basic life skills like a day of practical car care; how to jumpstart a car, change a tire, check oil and windshield fluid, and tire pressure. Then it will cover items like what to do if you are in an accident, how to make appointments, and how to make a phone call.  Yes, we will have mock phone calls for your teens to help get over the anxiety of making phone calls. We will organize a day outside of class time, more than likely on a Saturday, to get First Aid and CPR certified. We will cover note taking, study habits, and time management, including work/school/life balance and setting healthy boundaries.  Your students will have two projects during this semester class, a community service project and a lesson on career readiness.  They will dig deep into what career possibilities are out there.  Whether they already know or haven't a clue, this project will help them gain a deeper understanding of a few options they are interested in.  They will have a lesson on PowerPoint and Excel and will have to use PowerPoint to present their project on a career path. This is a one semester class. They will earn 1 credit towards their high school elective credit.
